The eagle was feeling amorous as he saw a lark on the ground. He dived down, swooped her behind the hedges, had his way, and flew off.Then the lark skipped down the trail singing, "I am a lark and I have been sparked!" Next day the eagle saw a dove, took her behind the hedges, had his way, and she emerged singing, "I am a dove and I have been loved!" The third day the eagle saw a duck which he swooped behind the hedges. But then there was squawking, scratching, and feathers flying, and the eagle made his getaway and the duck limped out saying, "I am a drake and there's been a terrible mistake!"
