cash cow
noun informal
a business, investment, or product that provides a steady income or profit.

Welcome to neoliberalism.

TWICE, millions of pounds of public money has been spent on restoring the Glasgow School of Art building, and TWICE the building has burnt down.

Vast amounts of public money are often squandered on restoration projects like this one. Crucially, such contracts are often awarded to outside private contractors who then go on to make huge profits for their shareholders.

Government buildings rarely burn down. Most likely, because they often comply with the latest fire safety legislation and are usually fitted with sprinkler systems.

So I smell a rat... I'd like to see who exactly has gotten rich from this project. Let's name and shame these fat cats. Let's see their faces. This paper-trail of corruption needs following. (Kier Construction is one contractor - see link below.)

No more public money should be thrown at this bonfire.
