I joined an app where medical professionals discuss cases and accidentally stayed up way too late seeing things that will haunt me forever. I have never been so glad that I can't become a physician. Yep. Clerical and radiological is where I'm meant to be. I've seen a man carry his liver. I've seen a man with necrosis of the leg. But I ain't never seen stuff like this site. Holy traumatic imagery.
On the plus side I'm learning so much more than I've ever learned...but goodness gracious
I couldn't be a surgeon.
I don't have problems with blood, insides, wounds, etc. but have an aversion to causing harm (cutting into someone), even to save a life.
I don't know what it is about it, since I have NO problem using needles, knives, etc. to dig out a splinter from my own self.
?
I can handle a lot. I've seen sooooo much. However oddly enough fecal matter and vomit is what does me in, and similar smells. We had a guy in our e.r. that shit himself. Not because of anything wrong he just never learned not to shit himself. Anyway that was bad enough I puked in my office, which made me puke more. But I can see a guy holding his severed foot and want to poke it.
@LadyAlyxandrea
It's not the actual cutting that bothers me (I've watched that), it is "me doing the cutting i.e. harm" that I'm adverse to.
Something in my past I can't remember is causing this, I'm sure.
A friend worked for the UK Faculty of Public health processing submitted papers. She told me never to look up "degloving injury" - That's advice I should have taken
would you do that to me lol still not as bad as the melted necrotic gangrene foot I just saw
