It's like any source that may include world goings-on. If you do too much of it, or concentrate on the negative stuff - it's likely to bring you . We have control over what we expose ourselves to, and how much !

It's such an old article. A lot has happened in 5 years. I think with the recent political divide, many Facebook users have cut out the types of connections, stories and events that make us uncomfortable. Many of us have weeded out “friends” who express ideas that conflict with what we want to hear. And the various analytics likely keep us well stocked with posts that cater to our likes, rather than dislikes.

I use Facebook to keep up with happy events in loved ones lives and see beautiful things that similar thinkers to me wish to share. Those beautiful posts often make me reflect on my own life and I resolve to seek out more beauty myself! I do see posts from "friends" who post things I don't agree with, but I just keep scrolling and remember we do live in a world where many people disagree with our ideal.

I believe that we all get out of Facebook what we want to. I personally don't like to be saddened or offended, so I have pruned out things that make me so. In this way, it is a happy place for me, though tedious at times. I also use it a social media for my business, so there is that.

I do have to admit that I prefer Agnostic.Com to Facebook, for my entertainment these days. There are deeper discussions, where I can speak freely and hone my perspective on the wide variety of issues.

It adds to the stress, but also gives us a venue for venting. That venue can be taken advantage of though

The more they change Facebook the more they make me unhappy. Of course, I'm not big on likes and Jesus setting around his computer just waiting for enough likes to do that miracle.
