We delude ourselves or allow ourselves to be deluded when we want to avoid processing, accepting and acting upon actual reality, whether through fear / insecurity, laziness, or entitlement, ignorance (sometimes willful) or something else.

It is possible for a desire for personal peace and freedom from conflict to actually motivate you to not deal in reality, so be careful there. Engaging with things as they are is not always pretty or pleasant, but it is necessary.

You don't understand what you're saying,
Delusion is delusion and still an insanity,
We could never go to the real freedom and peace that atheist people's goal if we're thinking like that

If you're talking about positive thoughts/principle/values & morality,
we could study in it deeply.
Religions and other fairytales belief corrupting our mind and all everything in our world that is the truth!

@AlmightyPush I'm talking about dealing in reality -- and pointing out that dealing in reality / truth is not always pleasant, which is the main motivation for being delusional.

If you want everything to be rainbows and unicorns then you are not really interested in truth as you think you are, and you're vulnerable to delusions.

@mordant Don't reverse the situation.
you are the one that not interested about truth here and not me
How could you ever gonna live in reality if you are deluded all by yourself ?

@AlmightyPush I have no idea what you are going on about. I have no idea if you're interested in truth or not. I'm not addressing that. I'm interested in truth and am simply pointing out that the truth isn't always fun, and that the major motivation for delusion is to avoid un-fun truths.

What you HAVE done is to suggest in your original post that you want peace and freedom rather than delusion. I am not saying you are deluded -- I have NO idea -- but am simply pointing out that not being deluded doesn't necessarily equate to feeling peaceful and unburdened. That is all. Calm down. Sheesh.

@mordant I am calm, I am just explaining, you know..
And there's no reason for me to be harsh for I am the god of peace

What I'm simply saying is I'm not seeking "fun" that's why it's very clear that I never need delusion in any way. Delusion is just for fools. I am ready to accept the truth no matter what it is?

@mordant Ok I got your point, sorry it's my bad.. And thanks for your suggestion/answer.

If you were to ask a buddhist, they would say that ignorance and delusion are part of the main mind poisons and are some of the primary sources of suffering in the world. They are not entirely wrong, in my opinion.

Hi, Push, and welcome to the website,
Peace and freedom are great goals to have.

You earn website points, and help other members get to know you better, when you write an informational profile that includes your hobbies and interests, and answer all the profile questions, since that's the first place many people look when they see a new member.

Also, the website uses your profile to find member matches, so the more details you include, the better the match.

Then you make comments and write your own posts to earn more points and privileges; for instance, at level two you can private email people. You get different perks with each level, and when you reach level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt.

To find members near you, click on the "Meet" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters.
Or click on the "About" button at the top of the page to find links to FAQ or the website tutorial.

I'd say the inequality caused by capitalism, which causes those who have less resources to reach for a comfort blanket.

I'm not saying what people's want.
I am saying how those fucking doctrines could seems true? The quran, the Bible etc. Their delusional message are not ordinary

@AlmightyPush They "seem" true because people really, REALLY want them to be true, and have engaged in a shared fiction called religion to feed this "delusional message".
