Great parenting! So this guy, this girl, and her kid stopped by earlier. I know it's this ensembe because these three are loud as hell, and you can hear them from the street. I already knew it was them. Then I heard I distinct knock. I was right in the middle of something, and waiting for 2 calls. I yelled "WHAT DO YOU WANT (insert guys name here)". I was two rooms away from the door and heard them fine! Then I heard the 6-year-old yell "MIKE GET OUT HERE YOU PIECE OF SHIT"! WOW! If I said that when I was his age, I'd either get a bare ass spanking, soap in my mouth, no supper, or at least a time out! Maybe all four! My mom gets mad if I accidentally swear around her. She unfortunately friended me on FB. I dropped a F bomb on a post. I got a text saying to watch my language. I accidently sear in front of him. She yells at me. But she curses as bad as a sailor . One morning I accidentally dropped an F bomb. I got yelled at. I go out a piece of paper. I put my name, her bf's name, and her name on it. I never timed it, but in far less than an hour, I had one strike. He had four, she had over a dozen! I pointed out EVERY time she swore. Then she TOLD me to stop, and swore worse! Now you would ask "why would he say something like that"? His mom blames me for their previous breakup, and for calling HUD on her. I had nothing to do with either! We live in a village of 600 people! It's not rocket science to figure out who's vehicle is at who's house. Especially when the police drive by the alley regularly, which is where they park. She had two residences. I did not know she was under HUD until she accused me of calling her on it. As of right now, this kid is fucked up. He doesn't listen to elders. His mother gives him a treat when he is out of "time out" (which is like 30 seconds). If it happens.. From sun up to sundown, almost always some sugary treat! He is already a compulsive liar. One time she asked me for some help. We were in the kitchen talking. The kid was in the living room. He came in sobbing yelling that her BF hit him. HE WAS 6 MILES AWAY AT A JOBSITE! I've had to babysit this brat many times. It's always impromtu. One time I got a knock on my door. She asked if I could watch him, and she was in a hurry for a job intervies. I said okay, but hold on a sec. I just so happened to be cleaning 8 rifles and 4 pistols at that time! I know she needed a job, so I hurried up and put them in a room. I told him not to go in certian places. Didn't listen. 3 times. I told his mom about this. She never gave him any sort of punishment! One time they came knocking on my door asking if I could pick him from school in an hour. I said okay. I was there and the principal escorted him to my vehicle! I asked how his day went. First words were "I didn't get my name written on the board". It's an award to not get written up? Gotta be kidding. his kid does non-sensical babbling, screaming in your ear all day. I got sick of it, had a panic attack, and flat out fainted. All i remember is EMT's trying to wake me up. I heard after it looked like I had a seizure, but have no priors. What's worse told by witnesses, he started kicking me in the head! No penalty. Another time I babysat, he was crying wolf. I called his mom. I was smoking outside while talking. He came out and said "I'm gonna tell my mom you hit me if you tell" . I said I'm on the phone with your mom right now! Know what this little bastard child did when I was on the phone? When he realized I called him out, he whipped out his pecker, and pissed on my leg! I told his mom about it on the phone. I mentioned it AGAIN when she got back! It was hi sweetie (or something like that). Got a juice drink, and attention. No punishment whatsoever!

If he is endorsed to do negative things, hardly ever told no, where is he going to end up as an adult if things don't change?

Didn't read 100% of this paragraph-less wall o'text but I take your general drift to be that Kids Get No Discipline These Days and that is often true. Whether it's more true than in Our Day is questionable, as we pay attention to different things as we get older.

I would not baby sit a brat, at least not more than once. Problem solved.

As to reasons why ... it can be parental neglect or laziness, but it can also be other things like ignorance; poor role modeling in the parent's childhood; extreme enough dysfunction in the parent's childhood that makes the dysfunction you're observing seem relatively tame; having a child with a very different personality from the parent that's just a lousy match; any number of things. No given parent is the ideal parent for any given child just because they personally gave them life. Sometimes it just doesn't work out well. Sometimes a child's needs and motivations are a mystery even to its parents, and to mental health professionals.

I always remove toxic people from my life...regardless of the level of toxicity and the age of the person.

Why do you even bother to put up with bull shit beats me ? Refuse to help out, tell them why and let them sort out their own crap. Sorry, I have no sympathy for you of them !

I don't get it. Why are you putting up with this?

Put their stuff on the lawn, change the lock, then MOVE, if necessary. Delete them from all social media. Don't mention them again. If someone asks, just say it didn't work out.

i've deleted both off social media for a while. They come bashing on my door whenever they want.

@TheGreatShadow Why are you answering the door? Ignore them until they go away.

@birdingnut because he will bash on my door until i answer, Sounds like a SWAT team trying to break in. I have many dents on my door because of his knocking.

@TheGreatShadow Are you some doormat?? Call the police!

@birdingnut If you can look it up, read my poas about felons. Same guy.

I once dated a woman whose 6 year old had been kicked out of three daycares for biting, kicking, stabbing with a pencil the other kids. He looked so angelic playing on the floor until he would get up, come over to you laying on the couch and with no warning, spit in your face. Mom would wring her hands and bemoan her fate of not knowing what to do. I only spanked my boy once (for trying to plug a fork into an electrical socket) and he is happily married, college degree, and great job and family. That boy you talk about will end up in a bad place. We have to learn to live together. Honesty and being civil to each other are just not feel good words.
