Many have been in relationships where they are sitting right next to someone but feel a million miles from them mentally & emotionally.

The worst assumption is to think that people think the same as us.Communication can prevent misunderstanding.

I was far lonelier and sadder living with my first partner for the last few years than I am on my own.

So very true. This is what eventually led to the end of my last marriage. So many of our arguments were caused by misunderstandings, which began to create a growing divide between us.

Been there several times! Not a nice place to be!

Misunderstandings can often be resolved, but being in a room with someone you are in a relationship with and feeling alone is as empty a feeling as l have ever felt.

I often said referring to my marriage, I would rather be lonely alone than lonely living with someone. So that has been my state for quite some time, I am alone and lonely but in a far better place than when I was married and walled off.

@Barnie2years l can relate to that. ?

A truth for many people.

I never felt as lonely as I did in my marriage.

"People seem surprised when I say Wenatchee is a desert," I wrote in my journal in 1988. "Now I realize I have been living in a desert of touch."

My ex-wife and I could not relate to this.
