Voting.....no candidate is perfect! To Not Vote is not a protest, it is accepting the status quo! Do you like what our country is becoming? Then you Must VOTE!

As I've said for a long time, apathy is probably the biggest enemy of democracy.

I won't go into how I feel about voting for the most part, but I'm looking forward to voting for Governor of NY this November.

There may not be someone you want to vote for but there is bound to be someone you vote against.

And that in itself is a sad commentary.

@bingst Not really, in Australia we have a greater range of political parties than you. That means there is more choice as well as more extremes. I take great joy in voting the bible bashing parties like the Christian Democrats last even when it meant voting below the line and individually numbering over 120 candidates on a senate paper. Our federal government has not had a majority in both houses for quite a while, sometimes they don't get a majority in either, tends to keep the bastards a bit more honest, our minor parties actually secure seats.
That there is someone you want to vote against from this lot is no surprise. [en.wikipedia.org]

To not vote means I can't be held responsible for a fucking twat being the leader of my country.

If 10% of those not voting had voted, you/we would not have this mess...non voters are the most responsible for this! You have a responsibility as a citizen....just shirked it!

@AnneWimsey

@LeighShelton george carlin is undoubredly funny, but i doubt if he would agree with you now, or even himself!

@LeighShelton p.s. so this mess is not your fault because you stood by.....i think 1936 Germans were saying the same thing. Sorry, not letting you off the hook on this....silence is acquiescence!

@AnneWimseyI agree. do you actually see your vote counted? I don't think he bullshits

@AnneWimsey i was never on the hook

@LeighShelton I have volunteered to work at the polling places...yes, I have seen them counted, and tallied, by bi-partisan local people.

@AnneWimsey your always going to vote in a professional self-serving asshole

@LeighShelton that is entirely possible, indeed probable. But by Not doing anything I allow Evil to triumph without even a protest. Not what's going on My tombstone!

@AnneWimsey its entirely the truth and I'm not having a headstone or a funeral just to line their pockets even after I die.

The last election was a profound object lesson in this. As distasteful as it may be, casting a ballot for the least bad candidate is the only way to prevent the more bad result.

"Less bad" isn't a fun concept but a vital one.

And vote for an actual candidate. No more of this writing-in of memes bullshit.

Indeed, please make it count.

VOTE! November 6th! One day every 2 years is not too much to ask of a millenial. Get out there.

Or anybody....why just millenials?

@AnneWimsey Because they are less likely to vote than other age groups. This is per Bill Maher show.
