We watch 60 Minutes this past Sunday and becameeven more pissed at the congress and the president (obama) with regards to the opiate crisis in our country. The program showed how easy it is to get what you want if you have the money.
A bill was past and approved to rein in the DEA's enforcement powers and there were NOT any nah votes in either house. obama signed is without batting an eye. The bill was written by a former DEA agent who now works for the drug industry.
Our political system is just as corrupt as any third world country and even in some first world countries.
The Draining of the Swamp will never occur.

I live with chronic pain and I have to jump through all kinds of hoops to get meds. I'm thinking some of the info floating around is horse shit.

In states where cannabis legalized, the opioid crises is eased.

"Researchers found that states that allow the use of cannabis for medical purposes had 2.21 million fewer daily doses of opioids prescribed per year under Medicare Part D, compared with those states without medical cannabis laws.

Opioid prescriptions under Medicaid also dropped by 5.88% in states with medical cannabis laws compared with states without such laws, according to the studies."

Doctors couldn't wait to write prescriptions for Oxy, tried to insist I needed it although I was doing great on Tylemol....literally poised over a pad with pen in hand, I had to say No 3 times!
DEA is outta control, has been for years...i agreed with reining them in.
I believe re-educating doctors is helping a lot, they had been browbeaten into "no pain equals better healing" which is actually true up to a point.

As far as the drug industry goes, our country is probably more corrupt than any third world country

The Opiate Crisis happened in Puerto Rico in the late 60's-early 70's. So me being a Puertorrican... that lived those days not only in Puerto Rico but also in New York City. Nothing you say impress me. "Seen it... Not Stupid enough to Do it". Nothing New. Regardless what Big Pharma will say. I was Big Pharma in my H.S. in 1972. And you want to Blame Obama. By the way... Our Political System been Corrupting Third World Countries since prior to 1898 at least. We invented and supported the corruption you claim to see in The Third World Now.
