Funny Street Names
In every Village, town and city are odd and funny street names. My area has no shortage of these. A British couple live on ‘Long and Winding Road’ and a partner street at the ferry landing is ‘Penny Lane’. We have ‘My Funny Valentine’ Rd, ‘Dun Weedin lane’, ‘Paradise Ln’, ‘Dirt Rd’. One of my favorites is a place where a glassblowing artist lives and is called ‘Baroque N Glass Ln’. What are some in your area?

In Quincy, WA streets are named:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5....

A, B, C, D, E...

Astounding lack of imagination.

Interesting. During the 2nd world war the city of Mannheim Germany was bombed flat. The new city is now a grid with numbers and letters in the inner city. Seattle also uses numbers and compass points for a lot of streets. I lived on 35th Ave SW. Not very imaginative but easy to find one's way around.

Mine aren't funny, but fun facts nonetheless. We have one town on my island that all the street names are body parts, in Hawaiian language. I lived on Puuwai Rd, meaning heart, but there were also streets named the Hawaiian word for foot, ankle, knee, belly, cheek, etc. Another town on my island named their streets for Hawaiian birds.
