73 degrees , 85 degrees , 95 degrees ...the temperature on each floor of my house. Too bad there are no bedrooms on the first floor.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I feel your pain.....my house has three distinct "zones" but because it was built 40 yrs ago, they slapped one A/C unit and ductwork in there and expected that to be sufficient to heat and cool a chalet style structure (prow and 30' ceilings in one area, etc). HA! A Mini-split system has helped the living room which has those 30' ceilings....But the guest room upstairs - well you could hang meat in there to cure over the winter thats how cold it stays. I remember now why we prefer new construction to buying older homes......but the property itself and the views were definitely the selling feature here....

Lol I would take the cold room in winter over the 84 degree br in summer.
@Bigwavedave Apparently, I was supposed to live in Eureka, CA. Perfect climate all the time (at least that's what they say). I like just a little bit of cold ....a little bit of heat....but spring and fall definitely make me happy to be alive...and retired! 
But from what I'm hearing, CA is getting ready to split into 3 - or secede - or maybe just float off into the pacific so I might have dodged a bullet there.
@Lavergne how did you pick Tennessee?
@Bigwavedave Turned out TN has no state income tax - and property taxes are very, very low compared to S.C. (which is where we were). Cost of living generally was a little lower up here in "da plateau". But the biggest thing was that it has 4 distinct seasons - I had spent most of my adult life bouncing around the southern states and needed to get away from the incessant heat. Of course, the people in S.C. were fond of saying they, too had 4 seasons (almost summer, summer, still summer and Christmas).
