How do you react when someone says they'll pray for you? I used to say "no thanks" when I was bitter. Now I just smile and nod. Lol.

Most of the time I will just say thanks.

If they are being particularly preachy. I occasionally respond by saying "Thank you. And I will think for you..."

Tel them, they are free to use their time as they wish. Bow head, Namaste and move on.

I usually just laugh and tell them its a waste if time.

I'd say "pray all you want, it won't make any difference".

"OK. Thanks."

It's their time, and if it's sincere, there's no real harm in it. I won't allow myself to get pulled into an impromptu prayer, though.
