I was standing in line at the grocery store looking at the magazines and tabloid newspapers as usual, when a guy gets in line behind me and reads one cover out loud.

It was a history magazine cover that said, "who shaped our world". It had a picture of a spaceship hovering above a pyramid. He then makes the comment, "god....simple answer", then smirks and makes a sound as if to say, "why the hell would anyone think otherwise".

I felt bad for this man. He has no thought process of his own and can't even imagine science playing a factor in the creation of planets in our universe and the progression of internal thought being anything but gods plan.

Simpletons.

Yup. But luckily, like the proverbial clam, he's happy because he doesn't realize he's ignorant.

Childhood indoctrination is a powerful thing. I always think, when I hear these things, that in another time, this same individual would have believed as strongly in Zeus.

Well, did you laugh?

To myself. I just looked at him smirked, then looked away. I tried to say, "you fucking idiot" without actually saying it.
