I rather enjoy making changes to my home . I'm wondering if others might be interested in home improvements ? A part of this is preparing for my future physical limitations , as I age , in order to retain my independence . Sometimes , it's a matter of usefulness , attractiveness , durability , or safety . For instance , during the California fire problems , a man created a thing out of PVC pipe , so he could allow water to wash over his roof , which prevented his home from catching fire .

I prepared for future physical limitations by selling the family farm and traveling abroad. I only want to live in a small place when I return to the US, like an urban apartment, so I can have easy access to public transportation, the arts, etc.

I'm thinking a wheelchair ramp, eliminate tripping hazards, redo your shelving so dishes and glassware are lower, widening the doorways for a wheelchair(there are narrow models for just that reason). Just some ideas.

Exactly what I'm talking about ! I was looking into a ramp for the front door , turned into two . One at the house , and one to get from the sidewalk to the road , so I can collect my mail .

@Cast1es Another thought, is see what your local State Government requires for disabled people.
