Good morning (after a night of bad reactions to simulated warfare)!
I'm posting this here in the general comments section, not to start a fight, or get a rise out of anyone, but as a thought generator. Maybe appropriate for this just celebrated holiday. Are today's immigrants any different from our ancestors? Escaping religious or political persecution, looking for a better life for their families, some running from the law.....
Why then, does this meme resonate with many of us (including me)? I've personally seen what can go on in a land torn by political nonsense, or economic upheaval. If I was faced with a life like that, would I "stay and fight", or would I seek a solution by a change in geography?

Interesting point. Unfortunately its binary. During the American revolution many people living in the us went back to Britian and some went to the Caribbean. ...immigrants running from attila ultimately led to the sacking of Rome.
