@splittingzero Divorce doesn't have to be a shitty outcome. The bigger the group raising kids the better for everyone. It's up to the adults to make work, i.e. BE adults. One problem I see with the nuclear family model is that it fails to allow for the input of various kin. When it breaks down it's the "worst" (and "final" ) outcome rather than being one way to continue the raising of the kids.
