If one's concept of life , is that your days consist only of , smoking , drinking , and having sex , than you have a very limited life . Expand your horizons ! Try something new to you ! Study and learn new things ! Read and learn things . Meet new people , try new hobbies ! Expand the person you are .

It is logical not to believe in god. It is illogical to deny oneself pleasure. I rest my case.

Definitely. Some of us just made some bad life decisions- encouraged by alcohol... My face turns bright red when I drink now... I'm still waiting for mary jane to be legal at the federal level. Gonna be a long wait.

I was never religious because I could not understand how people could believe such things. I am an ex smoker (gave it up 20+ yrs ago but still crave them on occasion), never understood the use of alcohol or drugs thing either (have tried both) and as a child of the 60/70's I've had my fair share of 'carnal indulgence'. ? I consume very little meat and I would like to be a vegan but I don't have what it takes to be that committed.

Religious upbringing but atheist for decades, most of my adult life. Don't drink, not even coffee. Don't like it, nothing moral about it. Don't smoke. Being surrounded by smokers growing up will do that to you, that and the fact that cigarettes killed my dad when he was only 50 (bladder cancer, much higher rate among smokers). Never did drugs. I'm of the Penn and Teller school: I don't like anything that alters my perception of reality. The joke with my friends is I don't smoke, drink or do drugs, and yet I call myself a musician (I am a professional). I'm mainly a jazz musician, and any of that junk that messes with your thought process affects your playing, and not in a good way. Have no problem with people drinking (as long as it isn't to excess) or doing weed. Smokers, a pox upon you. I've done way too many gigs where I've come home reeking of smoke.

I gave up coffee too- it was hard. I read up on how to take care of nasal-labial folds around the mouth - no coffee and no alcohol was up there.

I've been atheist since birth but I do not drink alcohol I don't like it it makes me sick and I take medication so my doctor says I can't drink anyway although I don't care. I do smoke but only marijuana. As for carnal Indulgence it's not that I don't want to I just can't find a nice lady that will go along with the idea

Carnal indulgence isn't even a real sin. People who are having lots of intense sex are way healthier than people who are not.

@Storybook You may desire sex , you may enjoy sex , you may have sex as often as you can , but it is not a , "need ." Oxygen , food , water are needed . Sex is desirable , but not a need .

@Cast1es

No, actually. Or at least, that is the case in males. When they don't have sex, it lowers their testosterone and that can be a really bad thing for overall health.

Well, crap, it's supposedly "bad form" to open a thread then not like or comment... I am a former Christian, I drink and smoke, 'have a long history with drugs, eat meat, etc. As for sex, I tend to be monogamous - not that I haven't had a few "oopses", but that's rare. Long story-short, I'm not qualified to answer your question; I only did so, so as not to be rude because I accidentally opened the thread...

Never Christian, but I’m only flexitarian, and non-smoker, no drugs, porn or gambling. I do occasionally drink and watch telly, I’m a bit of a movie buff. I’m on the fence with carnal vices.

I'm almost too perfect to be a heathen. Veggie, non-smoker, non-drinker, no drugs, porn, gambling, telly or sex (unfortunately).
But if you show me a cake I will practically lick the tin.
Last vice standing.

Never religious but I attended Catholic elementary school and university. Barely do any drinking... I go months without a taste. Never smoked... I did indulged on drugs as a teen over 45 years ago. Smoked weed once with my daughter about 6 years ago... was not impressed and never repeated it. Used drink as any good sailor, about the carnal indulgence... Guilty. But nothing in me is permanent... everything comes with expiration date in my life, including affairs of the heart. Many that know me are thinking I am turning into some kind of saint without a cause.

I drink, but almost never to excess. Regular moderate alcohol consumption seems like it's healthy. Smoking has zero health benefits.

As for other carnal pleasures, I'm a heretic.

3

I very rarely ever drink, I don't do recreational drugs and have negative feelings about them (except pot, but I don't like when people do it all the time and it's basically 90% of their entire personality), I don't sleep around (I did back when I was 18, but that was a year I did a lot of bad stuff I don't like to think about that year).

My best friends mom always thought I was the bad influence but it turns out I'm so boring and straight laced.

The only thing I do is smoke cigarettes. Im a 10th generation smoker, and it's a coping mechanism. I'd rather that than drink or drugs.

I'm also a sugar addict.

Are these all mutually exclusive?

Sparks Level 3 July 13, 2018

They certainly don't seem to be!

4

I've never had any interest in drugs, alcohol or smoking. I do enjoy swearing though. As often as I fucking can, actually 😛

1

Reminds me of an Adam Ant song.

I came here to say pretty much that. ?

Guilty. Cheesy 80's music is not on my list of given up vices...

2

I have a religious background but girls that fit this bill is rare.

4

I was never into religion. I remember being 9 and refusing to do my communion or confirmation...whichever comes first. Even so, never touched a drug, never smoked, might have 5 drinks a year. My indulgence? Chocolate milk and Cheetos (not often at the same time).

When I was young, my grandfather introduced me to his favorite Catholic priest. I asked if he had ever performed an exorcism. Needless to say, that didn't go over too well.

5

Never religious and don't do any of the things you mentioned.

I'm a vegetarian and have been trying to transition to vegan for a few weeks now lol. I've gotten into recycling. I walk and exercise routinely. Listen to music and watch TV shows or movies

I keep seeing these memes on fb from vegan friends - of people who obviously work out and are muscular and are vegan. Maybe it's for real - cause it's working for you.

@UrsiMajor Thank you for the compliment.
