In 2016, 65.8 million voted Democrat, 62.9 million voted Republican, 108.8 million didn't care enough to vote and ensured that Donald Trump was elected.

Mid-terms are in 4 months and if Trump is still in power, Americans will have another POTUS decision to make in 2 years.

I wonder how many won't care enough to vote in November and in 2020? ?

As a lifelong Democrat, I have voted in every election, including primaries, since age 18.

Looks like 108 million ppl were robbed of their vote for ' none of the above super- criminals '
Thats the problem right there . A lot of ppl try to shame virtuous ppl for not being willing to vote for monsters when they should actually be ashamed of themselves for being willing to vote for monsters in a system rigged by and for the monsters !

Maybe the US needs to look at changing the winner take all system.

Even though we have 4 active political parties, we still have the dysfunctional first past the post system, which many want to change. But the establishment is fighting to maintain their power in a big way. And the 'winner take all" serves them best.

Functional democracy needs to move to proportional representation which evens out the playing field. But that won't happen any time soon. Unfortunately.

But in British Columbia, we're voting for it in a referendum later this year. We'd be the first province in Canada to transition to a more representative system, if it passes, and the government decides to go with it. LLOL [cbc.ca]

We also need to make voting compulsory and a requirement of citizenship, but that probably won't happen in my lifetime. 😉.

Until it affects them personally, I'll wager that the numbers won't change all that much.

I just read an article that said in some 10-15 years , 50% of the population will live in 15 states and will elect 30 senators. The remaining 50% will elect 70 senators. Its more than just voting, we need representation.

Good question? More people are starting to imagine that their vote will not matter anyway while Trump and his team are wanting to protest the outcome if it doesn't go their way. Remember that Trump hinted at this in the last election saying "it was rigged against him." They may try using Cross Check again. I would say it is high time for everyone to start giving a shit and to vote, vote, vote!

A BLUE wave from coast to coast is the only thing that will save this country from those who will destroy it in the name of MONEY.
