I abandoned smoking many decades ago- and it is just about time that I abandoned the bar scene too. It is sooooo boring- and I agree with you, if a person is expecting to meet a "thinking person" there, they must be delusional. If anyone, male or female, wants to have a conversation, don't pick a 'sports officiado', that is the ultimate downer. They are easy to identify, with their big beer guts (from being in the bar for hours every day)------ and they never play "sports"!
When I go to fitness, there are people that work out 'hard', and they are interested in many things from reading, art, music...
I doubt that I am much of a "thinker"- although I do rattle my brain- 'once in a while'.

Yep, I hear you. I like intellectual conversation - like to talk about books, overseas travel, social issues, human issues - you almost never meet Thinkers in bars, in sports stadiums, etc. I do know a few sports fans who are into intellectual pursuits ... just not very many. Good to chat with another Thinker - let us chat again.
I think I fit nearly all of your categories. I was a commercial sculptor until I retired a few years ago. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Hi, I live in Minneapolis. Lifelong single, very independent. It would be great to find a few male friends to have coffee with on occasion. I enjoy intellectual conversation, non-fiction books, overseas travel. Hope we can chat soon.

I enjoy talking about overseas travel, non-fiction books, like going to art festivals. Would be great to find a few male friends to meet for coffee once in a while.
