I thought James Randi put an end to Peter Popoff years ago, I am shocked to find he's still defrauding people out of millions of dollars. Surely it's illegal to abuse desperate people like that?

There will always be gullible people that will fall for this nonsense. If you are a James Randi fan you should watch an excellent movie about him titled An honest liar

Bump! That was a great documentary!!

What is he doing?

He is a faith healer televangelist that was proven to be a fraud (his wife told him what to say through an earpiece, and he even cured a man of ovarian cancer)., he's apparently still practising.

Not with untestable claims. So long as he's not doing hot reading again, it's really hard to prove someone's a fraud. It's abuse, but neither abuser nor abused thinks it is; they are fully convinced it's the opposite! Hence, the anger at the dogma and not at the people.

If he was proved to be defrauding the people of his church again then surely there would be legal consequences? he's probably only adapted his old earpiece to god trick slightly,

@Dav87 I haven't watched any of his recent stuff. But honestly, if all he does is do cold reading with much of the same fervor and verbiage as before, he could still be generating most of the same cash. It'd still be fraud, but not demonstrable.

...or maybe this time he's doing an encrypted bluetooth signal.
