Gravity heat pipes? Capillary fed heat pipes? Do you have any in your house right now? Do you own a laptop?

For quite a while I've been thinking about using heat pipes to capture solar energy all year. If they have low enough pressure, it's possible to boil volatile liquids easily to transfer heat energy.

It's summer year around where I live. I have a ceiling fan and full screen double doors to my balcony here in Songkhla, Thailand.

Do you use some type of air conditioning, like central air.

@OleBlueEyes I don't need any. My ceiling fan keeps things cool, there is always a cross ocean breeze, and the temp stays 84 degrees year around. Perfect weather.

Most foreign teachers in Thailand rent expensive apartments with refrigerators, AC, etc., but I live a somewhat Thai lifestyle, since it's the cheapest and works best.

I eat Thai food, bought fresh daily from local Thai vendors instead of shopping at western style stores, etc. My American counterparts typically have a much higher cost of living. For some reason, they try to live a US lifestyle in a beautiful tropical country.

I'd love to know what's behind these questions. I once built a heat-pipe furnace. I own a laptop but I think it's packed up.

If you owned a computer or a laptop, you also owned a heat pipe. People don't think about it much, but I do. Thermal superconductors is what people missed call them. We could be using them to do so much more, especially in heating and cooling of our houses. There seems to be lots of technology that's overlooked, especially if it's not understood well by the general population.
