Republicans don't trust Trump (justifiably) because he follows the political winds, making him unreliable. Pence is a true believer and the Republicans will follow him anywhere. If Trump keeps shooting himself in the foot, I could even see Pence running against him in 2000. The Democrats have a much better chance of winning the election against Trump or VP Pence than against a President Pence, who can use a martyred Trump as an election prop.

As long as the Dems. have control over at least half of the legislative branch, Pence couldn't do much more damage than any other Republican. Plus there is no way he could win re-election. His foreign policy would be far less damaging to American interests, and his theocratic, bigoted ramblings would do more damage to the future of Traditional Christianity than just about anything I can think of.

Not me. Evicting Trump and his family of crooks from our government sends as clear a message as can be sent that we the people aren't going to put up with that shit so Mike if you try pulling crap you will be outed and sent packing too. That's what a line of succession is for.
