England is usually a wet place but this summer is the driest since 1976, which I just remember. Our hay supplier has guaranteed us our supply of winter hay at todays price so we won't struggle. Our farm is a petting farm open to the public every day of the year. It's just strange seeing the country looking like the Mediteranean than soggy England.

Didn't realise it was that bad! I'm up north, we've obviously had the same hot/dry pattern but I'm not aware of any big agricultural problems yet. I hope you get some more rain soon to salvage what you can

The timothy hay farmer near me has an overflowing barn of first cutting hay. Usually by now that hay has been sold and on it's way overseas so the barn can be loaded by up with the 2nd cutting.
We have irrigation and this year the allotment was near 100%. Not a drought year here. Irrigators depend on winter snow fall in the mountains. No snow no summer melt to fill the reservoirs.
I know what you are going thru, we have had some bad drought years.

Here in Texas , it seems it's either drought or floods .

I am so sorry you are going through this! This is very common where I live. I always thought of England as a place that gets enough rain.
