Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.The economy here in Utah, especially along the Wasatch Front is booming mainly due to construction and companies moving operations here. Almost all of which was conceived and started before Trump was elected. I've been in business for 41 years and my company is in manufacturing and I can tell you from first hand experience that this economy especially the manufacturing sector has been on the upswing for years. I know a lot of people in the machine tool industry and attend a lot of manufacturing trade shows and the push to bring back more manufacturing here has been strong and ongoing for years. Trump did cut taxes and loosen some regulations which naturally business will respond too. But in my case and believe me my case is not unique by any stretch, these tariff and trade war threats have so driven up the cost of steel and aluminum our primary raw material that any benefit from tax cuts and deregulation has been more than wiped out. And everybody in the not so distance future is going to be experiencing this with the higher cost of just about everything. Stayed tuned folks the Trump economy is far from settled!!!

The way was paved for him by Obama. Trump's policies have encouraged big business to re-invest and expand. He deserves credit for encouraging this stimulation. But it would not have been posdible had nit Obama recovered and stabilized the economy after the great recession on 2008. Trump could not have accomplished what Obama did, he's not intelligent enough to have handled that crisis.
Along with that, at what cost is this new economic stimulation going to cost us in quality of life down the line. The recovery and stimulation is a short term fix. The sacrifices we are making to civil liberties, the environment, to the widening rich to poor gap, may take decades to repair, if at all possible. You notice the majority that tout Trump's economic success are primarily 35 to 60 year old white males (a minority of the population). There are by far a much larger segment of the population which are feeling the burn.

funny - you think Obama is more intelligent than Trump? lol Obama was more like a Sunday preacher, all style and no substance.
@gater There is no comparison between Obama and Trump intellectually. Obama was a civil rights lawyer, has written HIS OWN book, has the erudition of a scholar, had a tremendous knowledge of history, and appreciation for precedent and legal and historical context.
Meanwhile, Trump has the erudition. lexicon and syntax of a 8th grader, is deslexic, cannot read (open admission by the people that work around him in the WH) had someone else write his book and took credit, does not understand history, made it through Wharton because of his father's donations to the school (admission by multiple of his instructors at Wharton), is morally bankrupt, and is a pathologic narcissist.
@t1nick Obama was a racist arrogant idiot. So you think the Iran deal was a good deal?? How about his attempt to regulate coal miners out of existence?. His open border policy? His idiotic regulations? His attempts to undermine the 2nd amendment by appoint liberal judges to the bench that didn’t recognize it?
