I'm STILL not sure about this site.

I had a number of my posts DELETED (in my circle, that is a grievous sin); they did not violate any community standards. The first one asked a simple question in a group. When the mod of the group basically called me retarded, I responded to point out an error in her edit that was added to make my question irrelevant. Everything was erased like it was a part of the bible that a new pope disagreed with.

And the admin here has failed to address any of this.

I had really enjoyed the community before that. I would visit multiple times a day, and enjoyed building up points to level 6, and looked forward to working to level 7. Since then, I have cut back my visits to, at most, once per day, and question why I even bother. This is no longer the fun escape it was, and to think, one self-entitled woman managed to do this.

Well, at least it proved that atheists can be as big of dicks as Christians.

See? NOW we know how interesting you are! Tell about living on traditional land....

I've lived on two reservations. From 1988 to 1991 I was teaching on the Hopi reservation in Northeastern Arizona. this reservation is an island inside the larger Navajo reservation. it was tremendous time, as the people were very welcome and opening. I was able to [participate in many of their activities and festivities. I was even able to dance on !st Mesa, Hano village during the mixed Kachina dance. I left beuuase my next school, Santa Fe Indian School offered to pay for my masters (which they did). I iwas there 13 years. I have just recently returned to the Navajo reservation after a 10 year hiatus from Indian Education. I enjoy the culture and the peoples.

@t1nick How interesting! We know so little about their cultures. I made a real GAFFE once at the zoo, taking a group of kids (who had raised the money to visit So. Calif, from Chimney Rock reservation) to see our two-headed snake. They were obviously uncomfortable. The adult with them told me quietly that snakes are NOT positive figures in their mythology. Who knew? I felt awful.

Is alcoholism still a big problem? How're people doing there?
