A third party option isn’t viable in our current political system, because partisan corporations own the media and the two parties own the debates. Bernie still needs to be on the Democratic ticket.
Americans vote by the “lesser of two evils” standard. Shitty, but that’s the reality of our situation. Fight for a constitutional amendment to reverse Citizens United. It’s the only way to end the oligarchy.

[caitlinjohnstone.com] I was a staunch supporter of Sanders and spent time from late 2015 promoting Sanders to the top of the primary cycle. We took Sanders to that top merely with grass roots support and donations! We can do the same with a 3rd party once united behind a 3rd party. Step out of their illusion! "Out Of The Illusion " Once they reach a certain percentage they get into the debates. The only thing holding the 3rd party back are those who complain, like you do in your very reply, and remain stuck in their managed perception. And you'll never get a sincere change in citizens united. Every change that is made there is always loop holes provided to work around the new change. That's a designed purpose to keep you out and their owners in which continues their power structure over us.
Yes, Mr Sanders needs to stay focused on the big picture. The progressive forces that want to reform the Democratic Party to the left, or create a movement transcending the DP have been saying not to be sidelined by the Russia story. It's true that countries do this stuff, the US as much as anyone. Having said that, Trump is a traitor, he is looking to promote Russian interests, to destroy NATO, inpair US governance, to weaken the US and support world dictators, and he must be exposed, removed, charged and not pardoned, and the Republican Party shamed for their acquiescence. Do that and pursue the bigger progressive political campaign as well. Unfortunately your Democratic Party is hopelessly corrupt, due to the likes of the Clintons and their ilk.

Both parties have betrayed us and the country for allowing it to become a Trump. You can't change the democratic party. They keep showing us they aren't going to change time after time. They now even voice opposition to any means of a progressive candidate. The Russian thing you refer to should be a DNC and Clinton thing! BUT, the entire democratic party, local, state, and national, have completely ignored what they did in 2016. Not only the democratic party, but the republican party. That is a quite loud silence!
US politics = $$$$$
Money must be taken out of politics if we wish to retain a democratic form of government. This is not happening and those who are in power will not allow it to happen. The only power people have is their right to vote, but when the choices of who to vote for is rigged and there is no choice and the people are duped. It is a sad situation, one that does not suggest a very good conclusion.

You're not going to get the money out of politics! Unless you join forces with a party against money in politics. Money is in politics for a reason and they aren't going to allow you to change that. No matter what they throw out there to attempt to show you they are changing that, they also throw in a loop hole to disguise it.
