Jurassic Park! I don't know why but it's so so good! I've read it over 10 times and getting ready to read it again. So much more than the movies. Takes a few chapters to get into, but worth it. The sequel Lost World is also way better (and different) than the movie.

Try the Dune books, you'll become a compulsive obsessive and spend the next umpteen years reading them all or pass into a coma trying to keep up with what the fuck they're talking about.

I’m finishing up a 21 book series set in Dungeons & Dragons by R. A. Salvatore. It’s the Legend of Drizzit series. First book is called Homeland. Drizzit is an outcast to his people and his story is pretty much a analogy to leaving religion. It’s mostly fantasy, swords and sorrcery, but dabbles in philosophy, the meaning life and comments on society.
