Unhook from Cable TV
It was easy. I unhooked the cable boxes, collected various remote controls and power cords and visited The Spectrum store. Now I have one firestick conneced, have logged into all three streamong services and...have not watched any TV. I have a smaller TV with DVD player and managed ( without help) to find the right remote. Last night, I happily watched he first disc of The Dresden Files. Oh, how i had missed the wizard. That was a great series. Make some more, SYFY channel. Jim Butcher has written many books about Dresden , the private Eye and Wizard.
I am now looking forward to dive iinto my small collection of oddities: The Color of Magic; The Hogfather; all my Rolling Stones concert DVDs. Life is exiting .

I have a Roku, and the tv is on less than an hour a week on average.

I've gone a step further and no longer have a TV. I'm not going to become one of those people who looks down on anyone who watches TV and says we should all give it up; it had just become too complicated. I don't want to have to remember which remote control to use, nor have to work out what needs to plugged in where, nor choose between a hundred channels and nine billion names for stuff I won't be very interested in on Netflix. I liked it when I just pushed a button on the set itself, sat down, waited a short while for the set to warm up, then had a choice of three channels.

Yes I totally understand. I gre up without TV, never saw one until I was 12. I love the spoken word, radio, audio books, etc. What we have now is my concession to the other people in the house.
