I think he'd shoot Trump

Macgyver really doesnt like guns. He’d make a bomb from fertilizer and diesel, roll it up into TNT sticks with all the fake newspapers, make a fuse from the puppet strings putin is holding and KABLEWIE! The embedded journalist and all the villagers are free.

But then he still needs to hope some of the clothing scraps landed nearby enough to lasso them with his shoelaces and wipe his ass.

I did once have to macgyver my way out of this situation. I took my pants off and slung them at the counter where the nearest roll of TP was sitting and rolled it to myself. ?
