Scientists and engineers work together on NASA science missions with the engineers having to implement the goals of the scientists. Sometimes it is necessary for the scientist to push the engineer out of his/her comfort zone. Other times it is necessary for the engineer to throw cold water on the scientist's ideas when unbridled optimism starts getting out of control.
