I feel like a dust mote struggling to stay aloft while being batted back and forth. I feel like I should resign to gravity, but I don't want to give it the satisfaction.

Been there, done that. The truth is, you and I are in fact inconsequential in what passes for the great scheme of things. But this can be a comfort as much as a consternation. If you have a small role to play, then maybe it's a doable role. I call this "living within my true scope" -- that scope being, an unremarkable schmuck just trying to get by / comprehend and largely making it up as I go. Who is allowed to make mistakes and try again.

I've become convinced that most people's problems involve some form of trying to maintain the fiction that you're some kind of action hero starring in your own personal movie, in an environment purpose-built for the drama to play out. This is, at root, a fiction advanced by religion, particularly for most of us the Abrahamic notion of us all participating in a cosmic drama of sin and redemption, eagerly watched by "a great cloud of witnesses" eager to see the outcome.

It's okay to be blown about by the wind to no place in particular when you understand that the journey itself, and not the destination, is the very point. Own that role as a dust mote. It is not an existential threat to play that role.

If you pay your gravity bill regularly, the should be no problem,

I heard the preacher pray, "Lord, without you we are but dust..." and I wondered... "Is that all I am, butt dust?" Is there a cure for that?

It says at the top of the profile page "Whats on your mind?", and that's what I was thinking at the time. I just got a wild hair to put to words exactly what was going through my head....
