Q: I was on Tinder the other day and saw a Long time friends profile who I have always been very attracted to, but who I wouldn't want to actually date. Her profile says she is seeking a FWB or hookups: which makes me more interested. She also knows my Long term partner and knows that we are polyamorous.

So what would you suggest as far as action? Should I pursue this and how?

I especially would be interested in opinions of women who date or are attracted to men.

Maybe she hasn't approached you because she views poly as a relationship and not casual. Or it could be what @Gwendolyn2018 said and that she might not be interested. However, I had a good friend that we were mutually attracted to each other. But I told him no because of our friendship. I wish I had given him a chance because he has since passed and I will never know.

Yeah, there's a lot of maybes... I mean maybe she has no clue I would be into it or a interested? Just as possible, no?

Wear protection and get tested afterwzrds.....

I wear condoms for all sexual encounters, even with long time partners. And I get tested regularly regardless of wherther I have had new sexual partners or not, it's just a good health habit to get into.

I am honestly curious about the "attracted to but wouldn't want to date her" part. I don't think I've ever experienced that?

that's easy. Not everyone is compatable for a romantic relationship, but that doesn't mean you can't find them physically attractive. There's lots of people I would be into exploring sexually with if it was able to happen in a context that was mutual yet didn't involve building a dating relationship.

@PolyComrade thanks for the answer!

He just wants to bang her...Tinder sounds perfect for that!

@JimOnTwoWheels some things are "as plain as the nose on yer face", why beat around the bush? (Oh, see what I did there? Lol!)

Perhaps because you are a long-time friend; she may be looking for something strictly casual with someone she doesn't already know. Couldn't hurt to ask though.

If you feel there is true potential - try - then it's maybe.

If you think you want this, but do nothing, the answer will definitely be no.

Be thoughtful ,ease into asking,catch up on things.

You have nothing to lose by contacting her through the app and much to potentially gain.
