I've been on the project from hell for the past 5 months at work and I just finished the release. I've put in probably 1 month, at least, of green time that I won't get paid for since I'm salaried. I maxed out my comp time in the first week and have been working from home anytime my kids will let me login. I developed an entire web based application for financial budgeting and EACs with analytical dashboards and interchangeable graphs with drill-downs, configureable reports with an OLAP cube backend that interfaces with a COTs accounting system that defines the financial Pool structure. I did it by myself (I'm the only developer at my corporate office) by having repeated meetings with stakeholders. I was supposed to be given a list of business requirements after week 2. Still haven't gotten any. I now know more about finance than I ever wanted to. And I never wanted to know it at all. If it weren't for my kids I'd go on a drinking binge now.

I hope you feel better now you’ve got that off your chest! Life can be a bitch at times, but at least you have a job, even if you feel under appreciated! Go have some fun with your kids is my advice and have a belter when they go to bed!
