What is god? Can you believe in god without believing in a religion? Can god be a unifying force for all we see?

Are the separations and divisions within the percieved material world a fallacy of human perception or are we really separate from the rest of the percieved material world?

You can believe in anything with or without restrictions. That's the beauty of having an imagination. Anything is possible in a fictional story. Good luck with imaginary friends.

Reality is multilayered. Just because one layer of reality is true it doesn’t negate the others.

@kmalawan, what the heck does that mean? What are these "layers"?

@ldheinz for eg micro and macro perspectives on reality. What is a chair made of? Wood and metal pieces arranged together? Or different molecules (carbon, hydrogen, oxygen etc) arranged together? Or atoms and electrons arranged together? Our natural human perception would say wood and metal pieces and while this is true it is not exclusively true, advancements in science has lead to the understanding that all the above are true. Are the wood pieces seperate from the metal pieces, because at the atomic level they are interconnected, for example.

@kmalawan, what is your point? All I hear is meaningless gibberish. You're talking but you aren't saying anything.

@ldheinz fair enough, I guess you can only hear what you hear.

@kmalawan, I can only hear what you say, and you aren't saying anything that makes any sense. EastBayMike made the valid point that ANYTHING can be merely believed and you keep responding with nonsense.

@ldheinz ok

thinking something with no proof is real is bad. Its like you are bullet proof or can breath under water

I know several people who believe in God, but not religion. I have no problem with that. It is the group think of religions the lead to the real problems. The indoctrination of children is not right. I have seen people compare it to lying about Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the tooth fairy, but eventually we tell them the truth. Very few parents do that with religion or God.

God as I know it is a deity with the ability to alter nature and science. With that I am willing to use the term god in reference to the creation of energy but that is it. When I get spiritual I refer to my E my energy of which I share with the entire universe. What else is too say about it. If God means deity , then no God exist. Ergo the word is useless.

Or maybe god is the grand architect that put the laws of nature and science in place so as to propagate creation.

Or maybe creation (the percieved material reality) as a whole is what god is.

Or maybe god is a silly story made up by bronze-age goatherds. Seems more likely.

@kmalawan Shake it anyway but God means deity who can alter nature. My world does not have such a thing. It is a single entity of mere energy, There is no altering what is to be
