Yin Yang ❤
Two forces in the universe, according to a Chinese theory: yin is the passive, negative force, and yang the active, positive force.

I like this. How did it come about? Put a stick in the ground -- straight up (about 6-8 feet high). Every morning and evening put a small stone where the 1st and last shadow of the stick appears. Do this for a year -- also implies flat land, not mountainous. The stones will form the Yin-Yang symbol. Draw a circle (use a string) around the whole thing. Where the stones meet the circle, it is the Winter and Summer solstices. There is a host of astronomical info on the Yin-Yang.

That is very cool. I didn't realize it was tied to the movement of the earth and the sun.
