Gay tales, stories about being a father of a gay son.

When my son came out as gay we were active in church, a church that was mildly hostile to gay folks. In support of or son we changed churches to the Metropolitain Community Church a, from the very foundation, gay church. As I had been singing in the church choir most of my life I saw no reason to stop so I joined the gay mens church choir. That's taking one for the team. Anyway a few weeks in we are practicing a number and the director wants us to sway. They had to stop practice to teach the one straight guy how to sway. Eventually the director said close enough as that was about as good a sway as I was every going to achieve.

I'm glad there are some parents that will accept a son being gay without a lot of grief given. I know my parents would not be supportive of me if I told them I'm attracted to men. They are very religious and want send me to a mental health doctor. I have no problem spending the rest of my life with a man. I might even wear a wedding dress to give it that gay touch.

What is a big question is how can any gay person still believe in any religion when they condemm who they are!

Reminds me of the endless source of mirth that my wife found in watching white people try to have rhythm (or, often, even carry a tune). She used to attend a Presbyterian church occasionally when her daughter was exploring theism. Having grown up in the age of forced busing on the Left Coast, she was well acquainted with the black community zeitgeist and knows how hilarious they found attempts by white folks to appropriate their culture. So this Presbyterian church did some "happy clappy" stuff and she would always have all she could do not to dissolve in laughter watching it play out.

Great story! Thanks! Lots of gay folks where I live. I'd almost say they are nicer than the average person, & often a ton of fun.
