Ironically, Jesus is undoubtedly the most ignored and reviled character in Christianity. People want to believe in " magic " Jesus. The Jesus who heald all sickness resurrected the dead and will send you lots of money for a small downpayment. The actual philosophy that Jesus taught is very humanistic, non-materialistic, and forgiving. Jesus most fervently preached against hypocrisy in all its forms. We really shouldn't be that critical about Jesus, who couldn't help the awful religion which sprung up in his name.

What you have described is Pauline philosophy. We know almost nothing about the historical Jesus is there was one. Very little of the new testament contains any actual teachings of Jesus. Most of what it is, is the teachings of Paul put on the lips of Jesus. There are some teachings such as the B attitudes that are believed by scholars to have come directly from early Jesus traditions. Even this is code talk ment for his close followers only. The B attitudes are directly related to the mystery religions. While it all sounds great the words had an entirely different meaning to those whom followed the mystery religions. Also the teachings were meant only to apply to his followers as was traditional for both the Jewish and mystery religions.

He wasn't always that nice... These verses prove the contradictory way things are presented in the bible.

“Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth; I have not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s foes will be those of his own household.” (Matthew 10:34-36)

“If a man does not abide in me, he is cast forth as a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire and burned.” (John 15:6)

“I came to cast fire upon the earth; and would that it were already kindled! …. Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division…” (Luke 12:49-51)

“…unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3)
