Boredom is an opportunity for me to step out of the box and try something new. I'm surprised I'm saying that, because I used to never think that way. But now I approach it like a writer does to a blank page: just start something.

Boredom denotes a lack of imagination....

I have an over active imagination. Often gets sick and twist. Figuring out how to mess with people. Get vengeance on those who have wronged. So me just sitting imagining things isn't exactly.

@Spag84 By "imagination" I meant the ability to come up with things to do and/or explore new activities. If I have free time, I go find something new to do...or I plod away at something that needs done...like bookkeeping for my business. But I'm never "bored". At the very least, there are always books to read....

I can honestly say hand on heart that I never feel bored! I used to hate it when my children said it when they were young. Maybe, it is just because what you normally do is becoming routine and repetitive. Use your brain and think what it is that you are bored of, or if it is just feeling you are at a loose end with nothing to do....then go and do something. Even when am sitting and inactive I am doing something to stimulate my brain by either reading or doing crosswords or coming on this site....that can be pretty stimulating!

Did anyone else, as a kid, quickly learn never to say the words: "I'm bored". ??

btw did you know that boredom is a prompt to find something to do?

Clean the house, do laundry, detail the neighbors car, jump out of the bushes and scare passersby. That last one usually never ends well. That whole getting peper sprayed and the cops are called. Trying to run half blind and choking on the gas. Having to hide in a muddy culvert. No thank you. You really don't make good suggestions. Do you? I think my misery is your entertainment. Just saying.

@Spag84 hahahaha You're right, I'm only here to find amusement at other's expense!
