Boiled Okra, yummy or nasty?
Being a native northerner I was only exposed to fried in the last few years and love it. A co-worker compared it to snot, and I thought she was crazy...until I tried be healthy and steamed it at home. Yuck. Snot, indeed.
Fried with bread crumbs on it. Yummy. I was just in a conversation about this today at work.
but...boiled?
I've never tried it.
almost as simple as a can of corn. small saucepan with a little bit of water, just simmering. just enough water to cover the okra. don't mess with them too much, they'll become delicate and very soft and slimy. when they have come to this point drain the water and slide them off in a bowl to share.
Slimy? Ew.
