How to know when you have a good hair stylist/ my hairdresser resigned.

So my hairdresser apparently resigned. Fortunately, there was a back-up stylist I can use. She's done my hair before and won't make me look like my Pomeranian. This situation is traumatic sometimes when you don't have a backup or have moved to a new town. I'll save you the pain of having your hair dyed brown when you need it dyed blonde. Here are some tips:

1.) Is your hairstylist listening to you? I don't care how great they think you will look with layers, or an afro , or a Friends' 90's Rachel. If you ask for a green mohawk, they better give you a green mohawk if they have the ability - or refer you to a co-worker if they don't have that ability with Elmer's glue. If they arguing with you, get up and leave. You are paying them- not the other way around.

2.) Do they keep records of customers' color treatments? Ok, This is important. Color takes differently on everyone. If you have been there before, they should know what happened. When people just eyeball your hair and think they can get desired effects using toner- you are in for becoming a brunette when you meant to be a blonde - sometimes even when they have done your hair a half dozen times before. Trust me.

3.) Are they concerned at all about the health of your hair and not just moving people in and out? No, that isn't new growth, that's breakage from you bitch-slapping my hair with the hair dryer so you could get your 2:30 appointment in,

4.) I'm really happy with Bubbles right now and highly recommend them. They tried to call me and left messages on my cellphone about my stylist leaving. I hate phones.
