Russia’s off my list… 20 years ago, sure. Today ..having morphed back into the dictatorship it had been most of my life - then messing with my nation - no way ~

You mean like the US is messing with a lot of nations around the world.

@Jolanta ...that’s right.. we wouldn’t have wanted to have interfered with Hitler’s plans, either. And more of the false equivalency - ‘whataboutism’ crap … how republican 😉 ... or should I say russian

Nice, I am hoping to do a cruise of the Baltic sometime soon and want it to include St Petersburg or the Paris of the North as it used to be termed!

It is a lovely place to visit, the palaces are amazing. Remember to book a tour before you go, they will arrange a visa which you need. Booking it with the cruise ships is more expensive. There is no public transport when you get off the ship, no taxi or busses either. Be prepared for a lot of tourists and buy your souvenirs in town too. They have them on the ship but you will have to pay 100 times more

@Jolanta Thanks for the advice....it looks to be really beautiful. Yes the Hermitage is one of the must sees for me, and of course the Winter Palace.
