I confess!!!!! Italians and Canadians please forgive me!

I've just obtained the following information from Wikipedia: Although a form of whoopee cushion was known in ancient Rome,[1] the modern version was re-invented in the 1920s by the JEM Rubber Co. of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, by employees who were experimenting with scrap sheets of rubber.[2] The owner of the company approached Samuel Sorenson Adams, the inventor of numerous practical jokes and owner of S.S. Adams Co., with the newly invented item. Adams said that the item was "too vulgar" and would never sell. JEM Rubber offered the idea to the Johnson Smith Company which sold it with great success. S.S. Adams Co. later released its own version, but called it the "Razzberry Cushion."[2]

Since I'm not from Rome or Canada but have had fun with a whooppee cushion on several occasions I admit to the crime of cultural appropriation and volunteer for a stretch in the Gulag.

I am not sure how is this coming cultural appropriation, but viva Canada while we're at it.

Canada is doing well when you look at pics from space and I think that marvel of engineering that is sometimes referred to as "The robotic arm" actually has the Canadian flag and the word CANADA plastered all over it. Then you tell me we were instrumental in developing the whoopie cushion? What next? Insulin? Polio vaccine? Dynamite? (done)
Be careful. Canadians have amassed 90% of our population within 100 miles of your border. Looks like we are going to invade again like when we burnt down the White House in 1812.
I stepped on a woman's toe at the grocery store and SHE said "Sorry"
How do you spell Canada? C..eh? n..eh? d..eh?
How could a Canadian pay attention to stupidity? I didn't know how Australians can think Canadians are stupid. Maybe they are!

I just heard on the CBC Radio that Aussies have taken to calling people they think are daft - 'Canadians'. I think a week on an ice flow surrounded by hungry polar bears should be sufficient penance.

@Hellbent I have to admit I have never heard Canadian used as an insult before either. Usually it is used as a compliment in my experience. 🙂

@Hellbent I did a bit of digging and found that this story goes back to 2014 but has cropped up several times over the years since then. I heard it just the other day and it sounds a bit silly. Cheers Mate.

I always though it was Antoine Lavoisier that invented the Whoopee Cushion, his "Sac Du Gas" caused him to lose his head.
