I'm in the process of applying to be a CASA volunteer. Court Appointed Special Advocate. This position is about picking a child in the foster care program, and being their advocate until such time as they find a permanent home. Some foster homes are unfortunately not doing what is best for each child. Sometimes kid are afraid to speak up for themselves in court. Only 1 out of 8 foster children in AZ have a CASA. I'm hoping this activity will fulfill my need to do something useful instead of just amusing myself until I die. If you have the time, check into it.

I don't have the means to be able to home a child, even though I would like to.
I do understand though the want to help people.
That's why I volunteer most of the week at a homeless shelter.
