You don't have to distinguish between jerks and fools, just offer the benefit of the doubt. (And how pleasant it is to feel charitable when thinking "This person is completely incompetent)! I think Hanlon's Razor may be my most important life tool. As in, if I forget it, I'll likely do something that ends with me serving a life sentence.
