For the first time in my life I met and engaged with a flat earther, here on this website. I was accused of not having an open mind. When I told her that I spent a good portion of my career in satellite operations and space launch, I never heard from her again. I'm of two minds on the whole notion of engaging the fringe. I mean, if the batshit is that deep, do you really want to wade into it? In any case, if the world were flat, I'd sure enjoy living on the edge! 😉

I enjoying watching their Utube videos and engaging with them for the entertainment. Sure beats what's on commercial TV these days.

The earth is a spinning ball can easily be demonstrated with the Coriolis Effect. Have him take a 5 gallon bucket fill it half way with water with a hole in the centre and watch the water make circular movement. Then find him a flattard in the souther hemisphere to repeat the experiment and compare notes. . .

The first discussion I had with a flattard I gave him these links

- - - - he never came back.

The best way for them to to 'research' the flat earth idea is to go outside on a clear night and 'learn the sky' After a while they'd realised how silly the FE idea is. Or perhaps they wouldn't. It all depends on how deep they've gone into the 'rabbit hole'

@Skyfacer From much experience with many flattards, (there are more of them then one would think) this has not worked.

This is my latest 'meaningful' conversation with a 'Flatearth' cultist.
Flattard ( Hot Anal) :- "Prove to me it's a spinning ball"
Me (Skyfacer) :-
"Now there you go Hot Anal. Ranting on demanding proof of this and that. You're the one making an incredible claim. The fact that the Earth is a global / spherical planet like all the other planets is common knowledge , or what is known as an axiomatic fact.
He who makes incredible claims needs to have incredible proof/s of the reality of that claim. You have no such proof because you are peddling fantasy ideas. In other words the onus of proof lies with YOU.
But I guess you're enjoying living in your fantasy 'dream cuckoo' world. I can understand that. These beliefs make you feel good and give you the 'satisfaction' that you're the custodian of 'special knowledge'. Go for it. Whatever 'rocks your boat' I guess".
No answer back at yet. I await with great ancipitation.
