I remember earthquakes in Los Angeles. Teh Northridge quake had me bouncing off my mattress six inches int he air. I don't miss them.

I now live in the pacific Northwest about 90 miles form the coast where there is a subduction fault a fea miles offshore which runs from northern California up to Alaska. It generally slips about ever 200 years or so and is overdue. They say it can generate a 9.1 earthquake. It may or may hntohappen, but I did buy a hand pump water filter just in case.

I was out in Southern California a few years ago. An earthquake woke me up at 5 a.m. and scarred the shit out of me. No Thanks! This is why I only visit and not live in California.

I attended training in Monterey for a while and our classes were in former WWII stables. One of the teachers was convinced that we experienced a quake, once. Nope, it was a 350lb teacher pacing on the rickety porch.

Do you have your emergency kit all stocked just in case?

Of course
