Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I remember earthquakes in Los Angeles. Teh Northridge quake had me bouncing off my mattress six inches int he air. I don't miss them.
I now live in the pacific Northwest about 90 miles form the coast where there is a subduction fault a fea miles offshore which runs from northern California up to Alaska. It generally slips about ever 200 years or so and is overdue. They say it can generate a 9.1 earthquake. It may or may hntohappen, but I did buy a hand pump water filter just in case.

I attended training in Monterey for a while and our classes were in former WWII stables. One of the teachers was convinced that we experienced a quake, once. Nope, it was a 350lb teacher pacing on the rickety porch.
