OK...here is a question...

If God is an "All loving" and "All powerfull" and "A PERFECT BEING"...and he "created man in his own image" and "God created the Angels" ... and "Lucifer was EVIL"...
Follow me here...
Then "GOD WASN'T PERFECT WAS HE ?"
HOW COULD A PERFECT BEING CREATE SOMETHING EVIL ? AND IF HE ISNT PERFECT AND HE CREATED US...WE INHERITED HIS IMPERFECTIONS ALSO...

WHY IS MANKIND LED TO BELIEVE WE ARE TO BE PUNISHED FOR OUR SINS...

HE FUCKING GAVE THEM TO US !!!!

so it safe to say their GOD thing is BULLSHIT ?

Complete and utter bullshit, to be precise.

The word “god” is just a metaphor for reality. If you think about it, reality can be pretty shitty to us sometimes, and yet it created us and is sometimes pretty good to us if we cooperate with it. We can rebel against reality and shake our fist at it and denounce all its metaphors... but we can’t overpower it or make it go away. Our only choice is to either accept this moment of life reality gave us, or trade it in early for oblivion. Either way, reality will still be there after we’re gone.

The fact that so many people anthropomorphize reality for easy handling can be confusing and destructive, but it’s not particularly surprising given human nature. But among the ancient stories are some clues about achieving peace amid chaos. Namely, know the truth and it will set you free. We now have a more effective means of discerning the truth than the ancients had. We have had this, the scientific method, for only about four centuries now, only the blink of an eye in the 13.8 billion years the universe has presumably existed. We’re all still learning.

There is no one leading us to believe anything. We are all here on our own doing the best we can to survive and make sense of it all. Our sins are their own punishment. When we make errors we suffer. Our nature makes it easier for most of us to relate to stories than to data sets. If we want better stories we have to write them. Remnants of images in our memory of someone who will write our story for us are leftover artifacts of evolutionary, neonatal mother-child bonding mechanisms. God is a character in a tired, old story. Maybe we can write a better one. What should we call reality in our new story?

You're catching on. Now look at the whole religion thing as a way to control the restless masses while you exploit their labor and plunder their wealth. Add an army of loyal clergy to administer the hoax.

Is it the glass half full/half empty question.

but If God is "All loving" and "All powerful" and "A PERFECT BEING"...and he "created man in his own image" then we are all loving, all powerful and perfect.

In our own right a creator. The angel thing is the dark nature and we have free will to be either positive or negative. your choice.

Yes. My husband and had a conversation last night about the difference between atheist and agnostic. He asked me if a translucent giant man came descended from the sky claiming to be god what would I do?
I replied first I would try to take a picture because that sounds crazy. Second assuming I feel comfortable with my mental state, I would try to figure out what this thing is, alien… government experiment gone horribly wrong? I do not believe it’s possible but for hypothetical reasons if for a second I thought it might be true I’d probably scream and curse and say “How dare you create such misery you arrogant asshole “
My husband’s super simple answer (love this about him) “that’s why you are an atheist “.

?. I try not be upset that others are tangled in a delusional story but just be happy that I am not.

No need to shout. It's a fairy story.

A non existent entity made up by people years ago.

Chill out and enjoy your life without the fear of a non existent god.

It's people that should scare you.....

The story I was taught is that lucien was good, but when God gave humans free will, he envied them. He wanted angels to have free will. God said no. Lucifer rebelled, jealousy growing to rage to hate. There were other angels that sided with him, so god cast the angels on lucifers side out and semt lucifer to hell and thus the fall from grace. Then lucifers became satan, and the fallen angels became trapped on earth.

So lucifer now has his free will, but angry at god for casting him out for wanting it, and being physically trapped in hell, he uses his power to create sin and thus evil.

Not saying any of it actually happened, but in all versions I've heard, lucifer is rather sad. God's a dick. And people blame lucifer for everything

Honestly, I'd side with luci. God is like an abusive husband. "Love me and do what I say and we good. Don't do what I say and I'll punish you for all eternity. But I still love you. I punish you because I love you and want you to be my slave"

@LadyAlyxandrea You have a very good grasp on the situation. Glad to have you on my side 😉

@Lucifer any time bro. Your dad was a douche

@LadyAlyxandrea Sister, but that's as immaterial as I am. LOL

@Lucifer really I thought God would be gender neutral

Wait no I just realized you're a lady my bad please don't throw me to the pit of despair again lmao

@LadyAlyxandrea As you wish. 😉

I can't keep it straight

To put it succinctly and in the vernacular that we use over here....it’s all “bollocks”!

According to the people who believe this stuff, Lucifer was not created evil but was an angel like the others. But God gave him free will, just like he gave to humans. & everyone was naughty & needs to be punished.

To be accurate, humans didn't have free will so much as blissful ignorance until I convinced them to eat from the tree of knowledge, which was a metaphor for taking to anyone other than God and each other. The very first echo chamber. And also much like the abusive relationship God has with all his children.
