On NPR, they said that republican turnout in Florida was even higher.
It seems they are just pissed that the guy they voted for, Trump, has been criticized so much, so they want ot stick it to us for complaining. So, I am hopeful, but not very optimistic.
@ProudMary Not aware of that issue, beign on the opposite side of he country.
However, today on NPR, they talked to people who said although they were registered republican in the primaries they intend to vote democrat in the general election... that is those who hadn't already switched parties due to Trump's antics.
I had one professor in college who said he was registered as a republican simply to be able to vote for the least fascist candidate int eh primaries, but he always voted progressive in the general elections.
So, although republican turnout was high, it could be that many of them voted for the most benign candidate inteh primaries and intend of vote democrat in the general election. Also, there are all the independents who don't vote in primaries to consider.
Over all, I am hopeful. I am just tryighn not to be optimistic to avoid disappointment shoudl things go badly.
