A long-time favorite of mine when times get tough. Thank you Mary Chapin Carpenter...

In this world there's a whole lot of trouble baby
In this world there's a whole lot of pain
In this world there's a whole lot of trouble but
A whole lot of ground to gain
Why take when you could be giving?
Why watch as the world goes by?
It's a hard enough life to be living
Why walk when you can fly?

In this world there's a whole lot of sorrow
In this world there's a whole lot of shame
In this world there's a whole lot of sorrow
And a whole lot of ground to gain
When you spend your whole life wishing
Wanting and wondering why
It's a long enough life to be living
Why walk when you can fly?

And in this world there's a whole lot of golden
In this world there's a whole lot of plain
In this world you've a soul for a compass
And a heart for a pair of wings

There's a star on the far horizon
Rising bright in an azure sky
For the rest of the time that you're given
Why walk when you can fly high?

A personal fave. My late husband and I clung to that song when our first pet died. Now, I treasure it as a tribute to him, too.

She did a great job with it live... (:

Right? I'm a big fan of this one, too...

@skye724 OMG, that song has TREMENDOUS memory attached. I took a very deliberate mental snapshot of a golden moment: I was sitting in front on our pontoon boat. D had the motor wide open. I looked back at he and the kids, mouths wide with laughter and happiness while their hair was blowing straight back; and that song was playing. It. Was. Perfect. ("This is love" )

And now tears are running, and I don't care! Thank you for the share!
