New roommate is a very devout Muslim. He spends a lot of time reminding me all the great things God is doing for us.
I really need to take him to the
UU Church today.
If you don't like his constantly laying his religion on you, why would it be right to lay anything on him besides a request to stop? you haven't said whether you've even asked him. from the fixer: "respect is what you have to give to get." you don't have to respect his religion to respect his right to have it; he isn't at the moment respecting your right NOT to have it, but you could ask him to do so. how about "i know you believe in islam and that's fine. i don't believe in islam, and i am not going to change. i'd rather discuss something else. how about we respect each other's beliefs AND each other's right to privacy?"

I think it's time to introduce your roommate to the Flying Spaghetti Monster (Parmesan be upon Him). Give him the opportunity to be touched by His noodly appendage. R'Amen!
The Pastafarian in should have spoken up. But I’ll just leave him in peace. He has 4 wives. That is enough.
next time he starts going on about great god is and how all Allah's creations are so beautiful just sing him this
All Things Dull and Ugly
Monty Python
All things dull and ugly,
All creatures short and squat,
All things rude and nasty,
The Lord God made the lot.
Each little snake that poisons,
Each little wasp that stings,
He made their brutish venom.
He made their horrid wings.
All things sick and cancerous,
All evil great and small,
All things foul and dangerous,
The Lord God made them all.
Each nasty little hornet,
Each beastly little squid
Who made the spikey urchin?
Who made the sharks? He did!
All things scabbed and ulcerous,
All pox both great and small,
Putrid, foul and gangrenous,
The Lord God made them all.
Amen.
What's a UU church?
Have fun getting to know your new roommate. Hope you two can respect one another's beliefs
@JustLynnie um if I'm an atheist why do I need a church
@Drsmash253 social life, potluck dinners, etc. a nice mix of Buddhists, Christians, wiccans, etc. plus all the assorted gender orientations, plus hippies old and young. And coffee.
@AviatorJim that's a social Gathering what I found odd was the word church
@JustLynnie I attended for years when my girls were young. I like the non church church thing!
